Your privacy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
The Sunday Wind is a free weekly newsletter about watches. This notice explains what we collect when you join the list, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep your email address so we can send you the newsletter, and very little else.
Who we are
The Sunday Wind is a trading name of Repcurve Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17427637), whose registered office is at C/O Just Balance Accounting Ltd, 10 Dunsters Avenue, Bury, BL8 1EF. Repcurve Ltd is the data controller for the information below. You can reach us at hello@thesundaywind.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, and whether you’ve confirmed it.
- Where you signed up from: the page you landed on, and campaign tags in the link you followed (for example “utm_source=instagram”), so we know which ads and posts bring readers.
- Referral code: the invite code you were given, and the code of the reader who invited you, if any.
- A hashed IP address: your IP address combined with a secret and scrambled (SHA-256), so it can’t be read back. We use it only to stop automated mass sign-ups.
- Your browser’s user agent (browser and device type), to spot abuse.
- Dates: when you signed up, confirmed, and (if you do) unsubscribed.
Why, and on what basis
- Sending the newsletter: because you asked for it when you signed up (consent). You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- Understanding which campaigns work, and preventing abuse: our legitimate interest in running and protecting a small publication.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share your email address with advertisers.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase stores the waitlist and runs the sign-up code. Data region: Ireland (EU, eu-west-1).
- Resend sends the confirmation email (and, later, the newsletter).
- Cloudflare hosts this website and, like any web host, briefly handles your IP address to serve pages.
Some of these providers are based in, or use staff in, the United States. Where data leaves the UK, it is covered by each provider’s data processing agreement, using the safeguards UK law approves for international transfers: the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it.
Cookies and similar storage
- Always on (strictly necessary): your browser keeps the campaign tags and invite code from the link you arrived on for the length of your visit, and remembers your cookie choice. Nothing here identifies you.
- Only if you say yes: the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok pixels. They tell those platforms that someone who saw an ad went on to sign up, so we can see which ads work. They set their own cookies and are covered by Meta’s and TikTok’s privacy policies.
How long we keep it
- While you’re subscribed, we keep your details so we can send the newsletter. You don’t have to confirm your email to receive it; confirming gives you your founding reader number and invite link.
- If emails to your address bounce because it doesn’t exist, or you mark one of our emails as spam, we stop sending straight away and delete your sign-up within 30 days.
- If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address on a suppression list so we never email you by mistake, and delete the rest within 30 days.
Unsubscribing and deleting your data
Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and most mail apps also show an Unsubscribe button next to our name. Either one takes you off the list straight away. To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted entirely, email hello@thesundaywind.com and we’ll do it within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and tell subscribers by email.
